  1. Read BC Mining Book, Lesson 2, page 2.  Complete Activity 2a-Renewable or Non?, Activity 2b, and Activity 2c-3 R’s Poster.

  1. Complete Activity 14C-Mineral Mystery, on pages 346-347.  Complete all procedures and questions.

  1. Rock hound Activity.  Get handout in class.  Start collecting rocks!

  1. Read BC Mining Book, lesson 3, pages 3-6. 9-18, and 22-23.  Complete Lesson 3 Worksheet, and Lesson 3 Review Puzzle.  Also, create a poster showing one thing created from mining.

  1. Complete Activity 15A-Changes to Land Surface, on page 364.  In part I, come up with 3 things that have changed the land in your neighborhood, or in the area in which you live.  In part II, answer each of the questions for each change.

  1. Read pages 364-371.  Make point form notes under the following headings (including the definitions of the boldfaced words): mechanical weathering, chemical weathering, weathering and caves, weathering and pollution, biological weathering, and from rock to soil.
