Lesson Plan
Period #7 Acceleration of Gravity & Projectiles
Materials : Textbook : Physics - Principles and Problems
Acceleration Quiz
Review : Mark questions 25, 27-29, page 77, 79, Practice Problems in Textbook
Objectives : students should be able to :
Define the Acceleration due to gravity solve problems for objects falling from rest solve problems for objects falling with an initial vertical velocity 2.13. solve real-life or word problems including those involving non-zero initial velocities, falling objects, and projectiles with initial vertical or horizontal velocities
Part I - Projectiles - Introduction and Notes :
Give notes starting "PROJECTILE MOTION" on page 2-40 - 2-41. Relate projectile motion to free falling objects, stressing the independency of horizontal and vertical components of velocity.
Use overhead of graph on page 2-42 to 2-44 to demonstrate the path taken by projectiles, and the horizontal and vertical components of velocity.
Do Example on page 2-45, 2-46
Guided Study :
Check Your Understanding page 2-47.
Projectiles Guided Study page 2-48.
Exercise :
Projectile Questions on Overhead page 2-49.
Evaluation :
Unit Two Test
