In order to get the most out of your experience in front of a computer, you must be aware of a number of things. It is very common for computer users to experience eye strain, muscle strain, repetitive stress, and other physical discomforts. Therefore it is important for users to act in such a way as to avoid the physical discomforts by following a few easy tips. These tips fall under the topics of "Ergonomics" and "Desktop Fitness". Your assignment will be to create a pamphlet using Microsoft Publisher explaining what Erogomics is and why it is important to have some knowledge of it.

In your pamplet you MUST include :

  1. A definition of Ergomics in your own words
  2. An explanation of HOW to avoid physical discomforts caused by using a computer
  3. A diagram of the proper (ergonomically correct) way to sit at your workstation
  4. A definition of "Desktop Fitness" and why it is important
  5. Diagrams and explanations of at least TWO stretches that one should do at their workstation
  6. Include a "Special Information Feature" in your pamphlet discussing something that you feel is important about the topic, that has not been covered elsewhere in your pamphlet. Ideas include :
    • special office equipment you can buy
    • physical conditions you can get from poor Desktop Fitness
    • specific info on one type of physical condition (such as carpel tunnel, or tendonitis).
    • books you can buy to read up on the topic
    • or any other interesting stuff you can find
  7. Proper citation of websites used and pictures used.
