Flow Charts and Traces

It is expected that students will:

• demonstrate an understanding of the following programming language concepts:
  • reduced vocabulary
  • translation to programming language
  • syntax and grammar

1. Dilbert "Strip of the Day"

2. Write the quiz on the slide show from last day. Use your first name for the user name and you will need to get the password when you are ready.

   • "What is Information Technology?"

3. Finish the worksheet on Computer Systems - this will be handed out in class. Some of the answers you will know from the "Computer Basics" slide show, others you may have to look up on the internet.

4. In order to test our flowcharts and see if they are going to work, we must do things called "Traces". We will be going over a trace in class and then you will do a practice one (our first trace) and check the answer so you can learn how to do a proper trace!

5. Do the Trace Assignment #1. Create your trace in Excel and save it as trace1.xls
