1. Read over the page on ‘Social Impact of Electronic Communication".

2. Look through your group’s package containing the sections of the time line for which your group is responsible.

3. As a group choose the most important developments that have affected communication

   • be sure to have each segment represented (ie. don’t take them all from the 1960’s)

   • choose enough developments so that each person can work on four of them individually

4. Work as a group to determine a very brief description of the impact that each has had (or the innovation that it offered that was different from previous developments.)

5. Each person takes their four developments and creates a section for each of the four developments on the timeline.

   • use MS Publisher (and word art to make it fancy)
   • follow the template shown in class - fit all four on one page
   • remember to do it on the ‘landscape’ page layout, not ‘portrait’.
   • use Microsoft Clipart Gallery to find a suitable image
   • look in the following sections first
     • arts
     • business
     • electronics

     • science and medicine

6. DO NOT print more than ONE page. Make absolute sure that your final copy is your final copy! Save it to your u:\ drive.

7. NOTE : It is advantageous to help others in your group, since you will be receiving a group mark for this project.
