Learning Outcomes:
A course outline with detailed learning outcomes is provided. These will aid you in organising and clarifying the new and abstract concepts you will soon discover. These also form the basis for assessment and evaluation so use these learning outcomes to study with. Briefly we shall attempt to cover the following topics:
I Network Planning
II Programming
III Electronic Communications
IV Multimedia
Textbooks and Resources:
I will be providing much of the information you will need, however, we be using the Internet and various software extensively for resources and activities.
I would like to make this a research based course. Thus we will have an emphasis on the library resources, the Internet and community institutions.

A . Necessary tools of the trade.
It seems only logical to bring not only your self to class but also
- pen, pencil and eraser.
- a three ring binder, book checks are done periodically.
- your cerebral cortex.
B. Grade break down, evaluation and assessment.
Your final grade in this course will be based on an average of all tests, quizzes, assignments, and projects.
C. Late arrivals and notes for absences.
Please arrive and be ready for class five (5) minutes after the bell. You will be requested to sign in at the office - three lates gives you a detention and
see page 12 of your agenda.
If you are away for any reason I will phone home. You are responsible for any assignments due or missed. You may see me to find out what you missed - the responsibility is yours. You may also want to obtain a phone number of a friend to call in order to find out what you missed in class.
D. Late assignments and missed exams.
A note of explanation of absence is required the day you return school. Assignments are accepted only on the day you return; late assignment penalty is 20% the first day and 10% every day thereafter. Supplemental exams will also be given on the day you return. I am willing to accommodate extenuating circumstances, however it is up to you to see me ON THE DAY YOU RETURN TO SCHOOL.
E. Classroom / laboratory expectations and conduct.
1. Respect the right of others to learn. This means being quite and attentive.
2. This is a lab and thus no food or drink is allowed.
3. No pushing or shoving in the laboratory.
4. Do not touch the computer screen with your finger (marks with natural grease)
5. You must bring your agenda each class to record your homework.
6. These chairs are not meant as formula 1 race cars nor warp speed star cruisers...YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ROLL MORE THAN FOUR SQUARES.
