Jaguars

Jaguars Are the largest cats in the Western Hemisphere. They are found in dense tropical rainforests or swampy grasslands in Central and South America. The jaguars like to roam near rivers, streams, and lakes because they are strong swimmers. Since the eary 70's Jaguars became on the list of totally protected animals in most South American countries.

Description: Jaguars have a broad head and shoulders, also their legs and tail are much shorter than the leopards. The background of their coats is tawny-yellow and turns whitish on the throat and belly. Their coats also have isolated spots on it's head and neck W dark sossettes inside the spots.
Special Info: The jaguar has very sharp teeth, this is proven when hunting because most large cats bite the neck or throat to kill their prey but the Jaguar bites right thru the temporal bones of the skull. This causes instant death.

The jaguar gets it's name from the word "yaguara" which means "a beast that kills it's prey with one bound".
